Bible study is an integral part of our faith journey and here at FUMC we offer various studies throughout the year, designed to help us grow in our faith. Because the topics and groups change throughout the year, remember to check back frequently for the latest information.
Currently we have three bible studies available in addition to our sunday school groups which meet every sunday morning
Pastor John's Bible Study
Each Wednesday, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, Pastor John leads a lively discussion of the intersection of scripture and culture. Currently, the group is studying the Gospel of John. No registration is required and the only supplies you need are a bible and an open heart. All sessions are held in the Wesley Classroom which is on the second floor of the sanctuary building on Main Street.
Lenten Lectionary Series
During Lent, Pastor Debra is offering an opportunity to go deeper into the scripture that is the basis for the upcoming Sunday's sermon. Each session explores the history and setting of the text as well as how the text speaks to us today. No registration is required and newcomers are always welcome. Sessions meet on Mondays from February 12 through March 26 (the group will not meet on March 5) from 1:30pm to 2:30pm in the Hays Classroom located on the second floor of the sanctuary building on Main Street.
Debbie Carmichael leads studies of special interest to women. Currently, the group is exploring Hosea. The story of Hosea and Gomer is a story of unfailing love - God's unfailing love that changes everything. Topics change throughout the year and each session is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:15pm to 7:15pm in the Allred Classroom located on the second floor of the sanctuary building on Main Street.
