Music is a key component to our worship. We want the music we make together to be pleasing to God and to glorify Him.
We have groups that participate in our worship services each Sunday
The Chancel Choir provides music leadership for our traditional 10:55 worship service. This talented group led by the Director of Music and Organist, Wesley Hudson, sings a wide variety of music from traditional hymns and spirituals to advanced choral selections. During special seasons, such as Lent and Advent, the Chancel Choir presents musical programs accompanied by professional musicians from the community. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm on the third floor of the Sanctuary building. New members are always welcome.
The Praise Team leads the 9:00 service into worship on Sunday mornings and participates in church sponsored community events. This group plays a blend of contemporary Christian music and worship arrangements and is led by worship leader, Mark Williams.
We have groups that meet seasonally or throughout the year and OCCASIONALLY serve in our worship services
At FUMC we believe that children should have the opportunity to develop a love of music and to praise God with heart and voice. Our Children’s Music Director, Sue Horney, teaches children the basics of choral singing and playing hand bells in an atmosphere of Christian love and acceptance. Children have the opportunity to perform throughout the year in our worship services and present a special Christmas program each year during Advent. Practices are a part of our Wednesday evening programming for children and start at 6:15pm. Want to join? Contact Sue Horney for more information.
