UMF Circles at First

To learn more about the United Methodist Women (UMW), visit the Connect page.

  • The Sunshine Circle began in 1978 with ten women who wanted to share Christian love and support for one another. Members, who are friendly and active retirees, encourage and pray for each other through nurturing fellowship. They actively assist one another, as well as address and respond to needs in the congregation and community. Programs include spiritual enrichment and opportunities for service and mission within the church and community.

The Circle meets for lunch the first Tuesday of each month, September - May, at 11:30 at the Elk’s Club. The December meeting is a Christmas dinner and party in conjunction with the Wesley Sunday School Class.

  • Sisters in Christ meets monthly in Christian fellowship to encourage and support each other and our church family. Meetings are on the third Thursday at 6:30 from September – June and include a devotional, updating of needs and praises and prayer concerns. The group has supported each other with emails, calls, cards and prayer during the covid crisis and transition journey of church merger.

Programs focus on missional needs of the church and community as well as information about activities and programs that address needs of individuals. Traditionally the June meeting is a salad supper and group auction to raise funds for mission and the December meeting is a fellowship meal and participation in a Christmas mission.
