Safe Sanctuary Policy

First United Methodist Church of High Point is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our children, youth, and vulnerable adults by upholding the principles of the Safe Sanctuary Policy as set forth by The United Methodist Church. We strive to fulfill this commitment to prevent abuse and neglect through preventative measures, reporting, education, and training.

The purpose of establishing this policy and related procedures is to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of our children and youth. By ensuring that all interactions within our church community are conducted with integrity, respect, and accountability, we will cultivate a space where everyone can experience God’s love and grace in safety and security.

This policy applies to all adults working with children and youth (age 18 and younger) and/or vulnerable adults in ministries both at the local church and beyond.
